Data Rights Management Platform Trunomi Wins Inaugural BakerCREDITS Award at Singapore FinTech Festivalby Fintechnews Singapore November 17, 2017
Trunomi, a company that enables business to unlock the power of customer data with consent and data rights management, is the winner of the inaugural BakerCREDITS Award, which was presented at this year’s Singapore FinTech Festival.
Baker McKenzie is one of the world’s leading legal services provider to fintech and regtech companies, with a focus on helping start-ups and fast growth companies meet the multitude of legal requirements that monetizing and moving into new markets can create.
As such, Baker McKenzie has designed the BakerCREDITS legal services package for start-ups and fast growth companies. CREDITS stands for contracts, regulations, employment, data management, intellectual property, taxation, and strategic fundraising, all of which will impact start ups, particularly in highly regulated industries, during their growth trajectory.
The BakerCREDITS Award provides the equivalent of US$25,000 in legal services, which can be used across any of Baker McKenzie’s 77 offices in 47 countries.
Trunomi was selected out of the 20 ‘Hackcelerator’ finalists at this year’s Singapore FinTech Festival, an incredibly strong field of highly innovative fintech and regtech companies that are making their mark on the financial services sector and beyond.
The award was decided based on both the innovative nature and the practicality of the offering, as well as cross-border reach and potential, ability to support the wider fintech ecosystem, and ability to attract investment. Trunomi also won the overall MAS FinTech Hackcelerator Award.
Stephanie Magnus, Head of Financial Institutions, Asia Pacific, Baker McKenzie, presented the award, and commented:
“Trunomi empowers customers to manage and safely share personal data, with consent and control, providing an innovative product that solves a major need, and with user experience at its heart. We predict even bigger things for this exciting, fast growing company in the future, and look forward to partnering them to help solve the legal complexities they may face.”
Trunomi Founder and CEO, Stuart Lacey, said:
“We look forward to working with Baker McKenzie and receiving their expert support and advice to continue contextualizing our consent and data privacy rights solution for the Singapore and wider Asia Pacific market.”
