The E-Invoicing Exchange Summit will open its doors in Singapore from 4 to 6 December 2023, at a time when e-invoicing adoption is growing rapidly across the globe.
The summit is a unique opportunity for attendees to get in touch with leading experts from governments and industries who will share their insights on the recent developments and future trends in the field of e-invoicing and e-reporting – with a strong focus on APAC countries.
Among the speakers and thought leaders confirmed to speak at the summit are; Kiren Kumar, Deputy Chief Executive, IMDA (Singapore); André Hoddevik, Secretary General, OpenPeppol; Mark Stockwell, Director eInvoicing, Taxation Office (Australia); Michael Alp, COO, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (New Zealand), Hiroyuki Kato, Director, Digital Agency, Government of Japan; Mehrdad Talaifar, Digital Tax Technology Strategy and Operational Tax Transformation Executive (UAE); Michel Gilis, Head of Interoperability Working Group, GENA – Global Exchange Network Association; Dolf Kars and Alex Baulf, Board of Directors, DBN Alliance (USA).
One of the highlights of the summit will be a presentation by Datuk Fadzli Abdul Wahit, Senior Vice President, Digital Industry Development, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
MDEC is Malaysia’s Peppol Authority, and Datuk Fadzli will give an update on the status quo of the Malaysia’s e-invoicing initiative.
It is worth noting that the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (IRBM) announced that e-invoicing will be mandatory for businesses with an annual turnover of RM100 million and above from 1 June 2024 and 1 January 2027 for all others. This applies to both domestic and cross-border transactions.
Businesses in Malaysia can choose to transmit e-invoices to the IRBM using two methods namely the MyInvois Portal that allows businesses to create and send e-invoices to the IRBM or they can also use an API to integrate their e-invoicing system with the IRBM’s system.
These are the insights attendees can expect to gain from the expert line-up of speakers as they provide a glimpse of their firsthand experience, the latest market developments, regulatory updates, and networking opportunities.
