The inaugural Money20/20 Asia conference wrapped up its three-day event at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok from 23rd to 25th April, featuring fintech discussions, international networking and collaborations.
The conference drew over 3,000 participants from 87 countries, including 24 nations across the Asia Pacific region.
Notably, the event featured over 250 speakers from Asia, with 45% being female executives and more than 60% holding C-suite positions.
Key topics addressed at Money20/20 Asia included AI, cross-border payments, open banking, digital assets, and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs).
A highlight was the announcement of a partnership between KASIKORNBANK and J.P. Morgan, which unveiled Project Carina, a blockchain-based initiative aimed at reducing cross-border payment times from 72 hours to just five minutes.
Regulatory discussions also took center stage, with significant involvement from APAC regulators. Dr. Wong of SC Malaysia discussed the country’s approach to integrating innovation within its capital markets, emphasizing investor protection and technological collaboration to enhance financial access and societal benefits.
Money20/20 Asia will return to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in April 2025. Registration for the 2025 conference is now open for those interested here.
“Money20/20 Asia is where the world’s fintech leaders convene to grow their businesses. Seeing movers and shakers from banks, payments companies, VC firms, start ups, regulators and media platforms coming together at our show in Bangkok was hugely exciting.
The conversations, deals and global announcements we witnessed at the show demonstrated just how important Asia is to our industry as a driver of global growth and I can’t wait to see what this incredible ecosystem will help us build in Bangkok in 2025 ,”
said Tracey Davies, Global President of Money20/20.
