Amazon has opened a new corporate office in Singapore at IOI Central Boulevard, establishing the city-state as a key hub for its Amazon Web Services (AWS) operations in the Asia Pacific region.
The hub was officially opened by Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information.
The new AWS Asia Pacific Hub is designed to optimise agile working, learning, and collaboration as AWS continues to grow its business, operations, and investments in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The office will house up to 3,000 employees across eight floors and over 360,000 square feet of workspace.
This is Amazon’s second corporate office in Singapore’s Central Business District.
The facility will serve as a collaborative space for more than 100 teams, including local and regional employees supporting AWS and other corporate functions, supporting operations across the region.
AWS customers and partners will have access to the office for co-working, brainstorms, workshops, and networking.
Amazon currently employs over 2,500 people in Singapore across various divisions, with over 100 open positions in cloud and corporate functions.
This expansion follows AWS’ recent announcement of an additional S$12 billion investment in its Singapore cloud infrastructure (2024-2028), projected to contribute S$23.7 billion to Singapore’s GDP by 2028 and support an estimated 12,300 full-time equivalent jobs annually.
The office features Amazon’s first Inclusion and Sustainability Gallery, showcasing related initiatives, and AWS’ first flagship Executive Briefing Center in Asia, for strategic discussions with enterprise clients.
The planned AWS Asia-Pacific Innovation Hub, opening in Q3 this year, will empower customers and partners on their innovation journey.
