Troubled Vietnamese lender DongA Bank has officially rebranded as Vikki Digital Bank.
The name change, approved by the State Bank of Vietnam, took effect on 15 February 2025.
The bank, now operating as Vikki Digital Bank Limited, has also updated its headquarters address to 72 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hanoi.
Alongside the rebrand, its website has been changed, and its digital banking apps have been renamed to Vikki Internet Banking, Vikki DAB, and Vikki Soft OPT to reflect the new identity.
The transition does not affect customer rights or ongoing transactions, according to the bank.
The rebranding follows HDBank’s acquisition of DongA Bank under the State Bank of Vietnam’s banking sector restructuring plan.
The initiative, which also saw VPBank take over GPBank, aims to stabilise the country’s financial system by absorbing weaker lenders into stronger institutions.
HDBank has said the acquisition will help expand its operations, strengthen lending, and introduce new business models.
The bank has received assurances of regulatory support to ensure a smooth transition.
To mark the change, Vikki Digital Bank has launched promotional campaigns and unveiled a refreshed look across its 212 transaction points.
It aims to position itself as a digital-first bank while maintaining a physical presence, offering integrated financial services that combine advanced technology with traditional banking infrastructure.
Vikki Digital Bank has also reaffirmed its commitment to improving financial access, continuing initiatives started under DongA Bank to serve underserved communities.
