The National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS) has launched support for Apple Pay, allowing domestic cardholders to make contactless payments using their Apple devices.
This enables users to pay in stores by holding an iPhone or Apple Watch near a compatible payment terminal, with authentication via Face ID, Touch ID, or a device passcode.
Customers can also use Apple Pay for purchases in apps or on websites through their iPhone, iPad, or Mac, without the need to repeatedly enter payment or personal information.
NAPAS said cardholders can now add their domestic debit, credit, prepaid, or dual cards to Apple Pay and continue to receive the same rewards and benefits.
The rollout begins with Vietcombank and OCB, with plans to expand through partnerships with other banks and payment providers including OnePay, VNPay, Zalo Pay, and Ngan Luong.
Apple Pay is accepted at a wide range of retailers across Vietnam, including cafés like Highlands Coffee, grocers such as Annam Gourmet, and ride-hailing services like BE.

Nguyen Quang Minh, General Director of NAPAS said,
“By bringing Apple Pay to NAPAS domestic cardholders, we will create a breakthrough moment that promotes digital transactions, brings convenience, and increases private and secure payment experiences for users.
Looking back at the progress of card payment in Vietnam in recent years, we can see strong and rapid development of digital payment card methods on mobile devices.”
NAPAS domestic cards are accepted at contactless terminals across the country and can also be used at select ATMs abroad, including in South Korea, Malaysia, Laos, and Thailand.
