Razer Gold has been granted a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, effective 1 July 2025.
The approval allows it to offer regulated services including account issuance, domestic and cross-border money transfers, merchant acquisition, and e-money issuance.
This marks the company’s transition from operating under a temporary exemption provided by the Payment Services Act and is a significant step in its plans to grow as a digital payments provider within the gaming ecosystem.
Razer Gold is part of Razer, a global lifestyle brand for gamers. Its virtual credit platform is available across more than 68,000 games and entertainment titles, enabling users to make purchases and earn rewards.
The platform operates across Singapore and several emerging markets through both online and offline channels.

“Receiving the Major Payment Institution License from the Monetary Authority of Singapore is a key milestone in Razer Gold’s growth journey. It reflects our commitment to operating within a strong regulatory framework and contributing to Singapore’s vision as a leading hub for digital innovation and financial services.
With this license, we look forward to supporting the digital economy by delivering secure, inclusive payment solutions tailored to the needs of the gaming and digital content sectors.”
said Adisorn Phonnarut, Global Head of Razer Gold.
