Revolut has appointed Michael Schroeder as Global Head of Crypto Expansion as it looks to grow its crypto business globally.
Schroeder announced the move in a LinkedIn post after spending three years and five months at Coinbase, where he served as Managing Director, Board Member and Chief Risk Officer for Europe.
His appointment comes as Revolut Crypto prepares for its next phase of international growth.
Crypto is entering a new phase as digital assets move closer to the core of global financial infrastructure and everyday customer use, according to Schroeder. Platforms now need to show they can scale trusted crypto products globally in a regulated and customer-focused way.
Revolut has more than 50 million customers globally and has built one of the largest crypto businesses in Europe, according to Schroeder.
Schroeder said,
“My focus will be leading Revolut Crypto’s global expansion strategy across licensing, regulatory readiness, operations, and market launches.
The opportunity to unlock new markets and help shape the future of digital finance is incredibly exciting, and I’m deeply honoured by the responsibility and excited for what we’ll build in the years ahead.”
Schroeder previously held senior roles at Bittrex Global GmbH, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Triodos Bank and State Street.
