OCBC has expanded its GENesis programme to include the children of high-net-worth customers in Hong Kong for the first time.
The invite-only programme brought together 27 participants aged 18 to 25 from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong.
More than half come from families where at least one parent owns a business.
Now in its third year, the OCBC GENesis programme covers entrepreneurship, financial planning, personal development and succession planning.
The three-day programme ran from 22 to 24 July 2026 and included personality profiling, networking with business leaders and discussions on wealth management and intergenerational wealth transfer.

OCBC also partnered with Singapore Management University Executive Development to offer a one-day Entrepreneurship and Innovation Essentials course for the first time.
Participants received certification after completing the course, which introduced frameworks for developing and assessing business ideas.
The addition of Hong Kong extends the programme across four Asian markets and gives participants more opportunities to build regional connections.

Susan Tan, OCBC’s Head of Segment, said,
“Often, our high-net-worth customers are concerned about wealth creation, preservation, succession and legacy planning. Many GENesis participants, who come from business-owning families, may one day assume leadership roles within the family business or start their own ventures.
By exposing them to entrepreneurship and financial literacy concepts earlier, we want to give them the confidence to navigate the worlds of business and finance, imparting relevant skills so that they do not have to start from scratch, or figure everything out alone.”
