Mastercard has appointed six senior executives across Asia Pacific, including new leaders for core payments and Southeast Asia.
Joyce Bo joined Mastercard on 3 August as Executive Vice President of Core Payments for Asia Pacific.
She will oversee consumer products, digital platforms, acceptance, payment networks, account-to-account capabilities and digital assets across the region.
Bo previously served as General Manager at Ant International, where she led payment innovation and the policy centre for Alipay+.
She also spent nearly a decade in investment banking and private equity with Morgan Stanley and HSBC in Hong Kong.
Abhinav Bhatt took over as General Counsel for Asia Pacific in April.
He returned to the region after serving as Assistant General Counsel for Mastercard’s global Commercial and New Payment Flows business in New York.
Dr. Peter Robejsek became Executive Vice President of Market Development for Asia Pacific in March.
He leads partnerships with merchants, acquirers, fintechs, governments and regulators. He was previously Mastercard’s Country Manager for Germany.
Paul Monnington joined Mastercard in January as Division President for Australasia, overseeing Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
He previously held senior roles at Wpay, Woolworths Group and National Australia Bank.
New Southeast Asia Leadership Structure
Mastercard also introduced a two-division leadership structure for Southeast Asia on 1 July.
Beena Pothen has been appointed Division President for West Southeast Asia, covering Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
She was previously Mastercard’s Country Manager for Malaysia and Brunei.
Donald Ong has been named Division President for East Southeast Asia, overseeing Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Services Business Development for Asia Pacific.
