Ripple has invested in ZILO and Licuido to expand its infrastructure for tokenised capital markets. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The investments build on existing partnerships with both companies and add regulated transfer agency, asset issuance and collateral mobility capabilities to Ripple’s infrastructure on the XRP Ledger, or XRPL.
ZILO provides transfer agency and fund administration technology that supports digital record-keeping and tokenised share classes.
Licuido operates a tokenisation and trading platform for issuing, distributing and trading traditional financial assets in digital form.
Its platform also enables assets such as fund shares to be used as digital collateral.
Ripple’s institutional infrastructure combines issuance, custody and settlement, with Ripple USD, or RLUSD, used as the regulated cash leg for delivery-versus-payment transactions.

“Our partnerships with Aviva Investors, Franklin Templeton and DBS demonstrate how asset managers are focused on deploying tokenised fund structures at scale. ZILO and Licuido provide core capabilities that are essential to further scaling this shift: regulated digital transfer agency infrastructure and liquidity for issuance and collateral mobility.
This is just the beginning of the journey and we see a substantial opportunity to bring huge efficiencies to the investment sector over the next decade.”
said Nigel Khakoo, SVP, Trading and Markets at Ripple.
Ripple has also worked with Aviva Investors, Franklin Templeton and DBS on tokenised asset initiatives.
Earlier this year, Ripple announced a collaboration with Aviva Investors to tokenise traditional fund structures on the XRPL.
ZILO and Licuido are among the partners supporting issuance, distribution and custody.
