TRM Labs has appointed former Monetary Authority of Singapore regulator Claudia Hui as Head of Compliance Advisory for Asia Pacific.
The role is TRM’s first dedicated compliance advisory position in the region and will involve working with financial institutions, digital asset firms and regulators on money laundering and financial crime risks.
She previously served as an Assistant Director in MAS’ Payments Department, where she was involved in implementing the Payment Services Act.
Hui later moved into industry, serving as Head of Compliance for Singapore at Revolut before taking on a regional compliance leadership role at Qashier.
TRM’s compliance advisory work covers areas including risk assessments, virtual asset service provider due diligence, risk engine design, and threat and exposure analysis.
Her appointment comes as more banks and payment companies move into stablecoins, tokenisation and digital asset custody.

“Compliance teams across Asia Pacific are being asked to make high-stakes decisions on digital assets, often without a playbook.
Claudia has sat on both sides of that challenge, as a regulator and as an operator. Her appointment means our customers in the region get advice they can trust and act on.”
said Tom Armstrong, Head of Global Compliance Advisory at TRM Labs.

“I have spent my career on both sides of compliance, shaping the rules at MAS and then meeting them inside fast-growing firms.
What sets TRM apart is that its advice is grounded in intelligence no one else has. I am looking forward to helping compliance teams across the region turn that intelligence into programs they can stand behind.”
said Claudia Hui, Head of Compliance Advisory, APAC at TRM Labs.
