Liquid Group and PagBrasil have launched Phase 1 of their cross-border QR payment partnership connecting Liquid Group’s RoamQR network to Brazil’s Pix system.
Users of participating RoamQR-enabled banking apps and digital wallets can now scan standard Pix QR codes at merchants across Brazil, using the same apps they already use at home.
The launch marks RoamQR’s first payment corridor into Latin America, extending the network beyond Asia.
It follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed at the Singapore FinTech Festival in late 2025.
After which Liquid Group and PagBrasil completed a commercial agreement and technical integration to bring the partnership live.

“Today’s launch marks an important milestone in RoamQR’s global expansion, bringing our first live interoperability connection into Latin America,” said Jeremy Tan, Founder and CEO of Liquid Group. “As more domestic payment systems join the RoamQR network, we move closer to our vision of enabling travellers to scan local and pay global wherever they go.”
Ralf Germer, CEO and co-founder of PagBrasil, said the partnership lets travellers pay using the banking app.
They can also use the wallet they already trust, with the purchase amount shown in their home currency before they confirm.
Merchants, he added, can keep accepting the same Pix QR codes they already use, without changing their existing payment setup.
Phase 2 of the partnership will build a two-way corridor. It will let Pix users from Brazil make QR payments when travelling to Singapore and other RoamQR-connected markets. However, it’s subject to implementation readiness and regulatory approval.
