Alkagesta, international commodities trader headquartered in Malta, has announced record results for the first half of 2026, with revenue reaching $3.5 billion — a record six-month performance building on the $4.7 billion generated across the full 2025 financial year.
Trading volumes rose 53% year over year to 4.9 million metric tonnes, and Alkagesta expects full-year 2026 volumes to exceed 10 million metric tonnes based on current trading activity.
A significant driver of this growth has been the continued scaling of the Singapore hub, which reached monthly trading volumes of approximately 250,000 metric tonnes during the first half of 2026 — reinforcing Singapore’s role as a central node in Alkagesta’s international trading network and its growing presence across Asian marine and energy markets.
The period also saw Alkagesta expand into two new commodity areas. The company completed its first crude oil transactions, including end-to-end delivery of approximately 1.07 million barrels to the Far East, and commenced jet fuel deliveries into the European aviation market following access to the NATO Central Europe Pipeline System (CEPS).
CEO Orkhan Rustamov commented: “These results reflect the progress we have made through a measured and disciplined approach to growth. Despite significant volatility across global commodities markets, our focus has remained on serving our clients reliably and building our business on strong, long-term relationships. We will continue to grow strategically, step by step, strengthening our presence in the markets where we operate and ensuring that our communication lines, capabilities and regional networks remain resilient.”
Senior members of the management team currently hold a 35% equity stake in Alkagesta, with leadership expressing its intention to increase this further. Total storage capacity across Europe and Asia reached 700,000 m³ following the multi-year biofuel storage agreement at Pantank in Antwerp signed earlier this year.
