Yuno has launched an in-person payments offering that brings multi-acquirer routing to physical point-of-sale terminals and mobile devices.
The company aims to give merchants greater control over in-store payments, which account for 85% of global consumer payments, according to Worldpay data.
Most physical terminals are tied to a single acquirer, limiting merchants’ ability to route transactions based on cost, approval performance or provider availability.
Yuno’s offering allows merchants to manage supported online and in-person payments through a single omnichannel platform.
Yuno’s POS orchestration system places multiple acquirers behind a single terminal.
The platform routes each sale according to the merchant’s priorities for cost, approval performance and availability, and automatically switches to another acquirer when a provider goes down.

“The terminal should not dictate the payment provider. The merchant should,”
said Juan Pablo Ortega, co-founder and CEO of Yuno.
“In-person payments brings Yuno to the counter, so merchants can benefit from dynamic routing, keep selling when a provider goes down, and manage online and in-person payments through one platform.”
The system works with merchants’ existing compatible terminals and allows them to accept alternative payment methods (APMs) at the physical checkout.
It also brings online and in-store payments into a single reconciliation environment, allowing merchants to reconcile both channels in one ledger and link store purchases to known customers.
For businesses without a terminal fleet, Yuno has introduced Tap to Pay, which turns compatible Android phones and iPhones into card readers without requiring merchants to purchase or maintain a POS terminal.
Banks and acquirers can offer the service to their existing merchant clients under their own brands.
The expansion also brings Yuno’s Payment Concierge Agent to physical payments.
The AI agent learns from every transaction on Yuno’s network and can optimise routing and approval at the terminal, extending the company’s AI-powered payment infrastructure from online checkout to physical points of sale.
