Sri Lankan merchants can now accept more Indian payment methods through a partnership between Pine Labs and WEBXPAY.
The partnership allows WEBXPAY’s merchant network across hospitality, travel, retail and e-commerce to accept UPI, cards from major Indian issuers, net banking payments from over 100 banks, UPI AutoPay and Credit on UPI.
Merchants can also offer EMI conversions, with T+1 settlement. The services are available through their existing payment systems.
The partnership is said to be Sri Lanka’s first cross-border arrangement of its kind between two payment aggregators (PA-on-PA).
It operates under the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) authorised Payment Aggregator-Cross Border (PA-CB) framework.
India is Sri Lanka’s largest source of tourists, with more than 530,000 Indian visitors in 2025.

“India’s payment stack is one of the most sophisticated in the world and Indian consumers carry that expectation with them when they travel. At Pine Labs, we believe the next frontier of cross-border commerce is making that experience portable.
Sri Lanka is our first activation under the PA-CB framework, and we intend to replicate this model across Southeast Asia and every market where Indian travellers and consumers are a meaningful commercial force,”
said Tanya Naik, Sr. EVP & Head of Online Business, Pine Labs.

“We selected Pine Labs because of the strength of its Indian payment infrastructure, breadth of payment options and ability to support a regulated cross-border model at scale.
Together, we are creating a practical digital payment bridge that gives Sri Lankan businesses greater access to one of the world’s largest and most dynamic consumer markets.”
said Thilak Piyadigama, Executive Chairman of WEBXPAY.
