Lady M has joined the nation’s efforts to transform the country into a Smart Nation by accepting only non-cash payment methods for all sale transactions at its South Beach Avenue Boutique from Monday, 15 January 2018 onwards.
Driven by opportunities opened up by the digital economy, being part of the cashless society allows the company to stay ahead in the industry through the adoption of new technology which will build economic and experiential value for the company, brand and customers.
While the Payments Council established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) aims to formally bring together both providers and users of payment services in Singapore, the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO) is also pushing for better and easier ways for more businesses and consumers to connect; this includes the simplification of e-payments through the deployment of around 25,000 unified point-of-sales (UPOS) terminals by early 2019.
Lady M® is supportive of more upcoming digital initiatives in Singapore. For a start, this cashless initiative will bring convenience and ease to customers who can now make payment through their cards and mobile devices, enjoying hassle-free and shorter billing time during their visits. As pilferage of cash is one of the major concerns in F&B businesses, the company believes going cashless will reduce such issues.
The Lady M® South Beach boutique will accept a range of cards and digital payment methods featuring vendors and partners such as:
All staffs are trained to inform customers about this initiative to ensure smooth payment processing during their visits. Signages and point of sale materials will be put up around the boutique as well. Lady M® boutiques at 3 other locations are set to adopt the cashless initiative in the near future, after the first implementation at Lady M® South Beach Avenue.
