Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS), a Singaporean electronic payment service provider, announced the appointment of Susan Hwee, UOB’s Head of Group Technology and Operations as its new Chairman, her appointment takes effect from 1 September 2021 onwards.
The chairmanship of NETS is typically rotated among the three local banks, namely DBS, OCBC or UOB, every three years.
Hwee will succeed Ching Wei Hong, Deputy President of OCBC Bank, Chairman of Bank of Singapore and OCBC Securities, who has been the Chairman of NETS since 1 September 2018.
She has served as a Director on the NETS Board since 2002 and brings with her more than 30 years of experience in banking and operations, including 20 years spent at UOB.
She is a member of UOB’s Management Executive Committee and spearheads the bank’s innovation initiatives, and sets the global standards for UOB’s technological platform and operational processes.
