Thailand-based insurtech startup Sunday announced that it has appointed Ryuji Wolf as its Chief Financial Officer and a member of its executive leadership team.
Ryuji joins from J.P. Morgan, where he served as Executive Director and led Consumer Internet & Media investment banking for the Asia Pacific region. He has worked in international markets such as New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
He has led over US$90 billion successful M&A and capital raise executions, and has advised executive management teams from emerging growth to Global Fortune 500 companies over the course of his global corporate finance career.
Additionally, Sunday also brings onboard Pawit Nopparuch as its Country Head of Product to drive the continued development and innovation of Sunday’s insurance solutions.
Pawit joins from SCB Tech X, where he served as Head of Product Discovery and UX Lead.
These senior appointments follow the insurtech’s recent US$45 million Series B raise last year with participation from new heavyweight investors such as Tencent, Vertex Growth, SCB 10X, Granite Oak and Aflac Ventures.
Since then, a string of senior executives across the region spanning from PWC, Cigna, and Avrist have joined Sunday to assume key positions in driving the group’s rapid growth notably in Thailand and Indonesia, in unique collaboration with its data, technology and insurance expert teams.
“Sunday continues to differentiate itself not only through its innovative approach and solutions, but also through its philosophy of making insurance available and affordable to everyone.
I am thrilled to join Cindy and the team that is reshaping the industry landscape and setting the gold standard as a true regional insurtech champion.”
said Ryuji R. Wolf, CFO of Sunday.
“Sunday’s vision is to be a leading digital-native insurer in ASEAN that makes insurance more friendly.
Being a full stack insurtech gives us product ownership and the ability to deploy and see our ideas in action. Ryuji and Sunday share such vision, and we could not be more excited to build a great company in collaboration with him.”
said Cindy Kua, CEO and Co-founder of Sunday.
