The Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS), Singapore’s payment services group, has announced a giveaway of up to 1 million complimentary NETS Motoring Cards.
This initiative coincides with the ongoing installation of On-Board Units in vehicles across the city.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will distribute the free cards to vehicle owners who install the new On-Board Units.
The NETS Motoring Card, a stored value card compatible with the new On-Board Units, facilitates Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) payments and is the only one that is accepted at all carparks in Singapore.
For carparks that have not yet upgraded to a full Electronic Parking System, the card can be used for manual tap-and-hold entry and exit.
Motorists can top up their NETS Motoring Cards using the NETS App or manually at over 3,800 top-up machines, NETS Customer Service Centre, bank ATMs, and convenience stores.
The NETS Auto Top-up service is also available to ensure the card is automatically replenished whenever its balance is low, reducing the risk of insufficient funds.
Additionally, motorists are encouraged to use vCashCard, a cardless ERP payment service, to avoid missing payments when their NETS Motoring Card runs out of value.
Those who installed their units before 1 May 2024 will receive their cards by mail starting mid-June. Installations completed between 1 May and 30 June 2024 will have cards mailed within five weeks.
For installations from 1 July onwards, cards will be handed out at the installation point. Motorists can contact LTA Call Assist Service at 6377 2255 for any queries.
