Standard Chartered Bank has created a new investment company in Singapore called Standard Chartered Funds VCC (SC Fund).
This new corporate entity will allow the bank to offer a series of funds that provide clients with access to unique investment strategies.
In partnership with leading global fund managers, Standard Chartered aims to combine the expertise of top fund managers with its own team of global asset class specialists.
This collaboration will deliver tailored investment strategies to the bank’s clients, aligning with its open architecture framework, which selects top solutions from various fund managers and asset classes.
The SC Fund will be managed by a team of investment professionals from different geographies, bringing extensive experience in manager selection.
The bank said that their rigorous due diligence process ensures the identification of strategies that consistently outperform.
The new series of funds will leverage the expertise of chosen sub-investment managers, responsible for investment decisions and portfolio management.
These funds will support long-term strategic asset allocation as part of a client’s foundation portfolio.
It will initially be available to high-net-worth clients with accredited or professional investor status in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai, specifically within the bank’s Priority, Priority Private, and Private segments.
Patrick Lee, CEO for Singapore and ASEAN, Standard Chartered, and Chair of SC Fund, said,
“Singapore is a critically important market for Standard Chartered, with the bank’s global businesses based here. Setting up the Bank’s first global VCC in Singapore underscores our commitment to build on the country’s position as a leading regional and global wealth hub.
Through SC Fund, we will be able to issue and manage innovative and relevant fund solutions for our global affluent clients in key markets across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, right here from Singapore.”
Samir Subberwal, Global Head, Wealth Solutions, Deposits and Mortgages, and Chief Client Officer, Standard Chartered, said,
