Sea Limited has partnered with Google AI Futures Fund to develop and test new AI applications, making Sea Labs the fund’s first external AI laboratory partner.
Under the collaboration, Sea’s teams will gain access to selected advanced Google AI models and technical expertise to develop and test new products.
The initiative will build on Sea’s existing AI infrastructure, including its proprietary models, computing resources and applications across Garena, Shopee and Monee, which collectively serve hundreds of millions of users daily.
The agreement extends an expanded strategic partnership announced in February 2026, covering gaming, agentic commerce and agentic payments.
As part of that earlier deal, Sea’s digital financial services arm, Monee, is working with Google on the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), a framework for AI-initiated payments.
Sea plans to draw on its experience in Southeast Asia and Latin America to develop AI applications tailored to local consumers and small businesses.
The Google AI Futures Fund, part of Google Labs, supports AI startups through access to advanced models, technical expertise and potential investment.
Its latest arrangement will see Google work directly with Sea Labs on applied AI development.

“Our ambition to become an AI-native company goes beyond improving what we do today. It is also about discovering what we can build for the future,”
said Forrest Li, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sea.
Jonathan Silber, Co-Founder and Director of Google AI Futures Fund, said:

“They bring talented builders, deep technology expertise and products that serve diverse communities worldwide. We look forward to giving their teams access to some of Google’s most advanced models and seeing what two labs can build together at the frontier of AI.”
