Nasdaq has appointed Andrew Murray as Senior Vice President, Financial Technology, Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore, where he will strengthen client partnerships and expand its technology business with regional financial institutions.
The appointment follows the relocation of Bob McCooey, Nasdaq’s Vice Chairman and Head of International Listings, to Singapore.
McCooey will work more closely with Asia-Pacific companies seeking access to global capital markets.
Murray brings over 30 years of experience across treasury, trading, corporate banking and capital markets.
He most recently held a leadership role in International Banking and Payments at FIS, following senior positions in its Banking & Markets and Post-Trade Solutions businesses.
Earlier, he worked at Calypso Technology, now part of Nasdaq, SunGard, Wall Street Systems and Deutsche Bank.

“Asia-Pacific is entering one of the most significant cycles of innovation and market evolution in decades, driven by AI, data and the move toward always-on, globally connected markets,”
said Valerie Bannert-Thurner, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, Financial Technology at Nasdaq.
She said Murray’s experience would help clients address complex technology challenges.
McCooey, who joined Nasdaq in 2006, has worked with companies in the region on accessing international capital markets.

“Strengthening our presence on the ground will allow us to work more closely with the region’s companies, investors and market participants, and deepen our role as a long-term partner across Asia-Pacific,”
McCooey said.
Nasdaq opened a Singapore office in March 2026.
The regulatory framework for SGX’s Global Listing Board, which facilitates dual listings with Nasdaq for companies worth at least S$2 billion, took effect on 29 June following the passage of enabling legislation in May.
