Ingenico, a French merchant services tech company, has partnered with Crypto.com to enable crypto payments for millions of merchants worldwide.
This plug-and-play collaboration will allow consumers to pay with crypto at Ingenico terminals, while merchants can seamlessly receive settlements in their local currency, eliminating currency risk.
The partnership leverages Ingenico’s new merchant wallet, connected to AXIUM Android terminals, designed to simplify the integration of crypto payments into existing systems.
Ingenico merchants will be able to manage both traditional and crypto payments through a user-friendly interface accessible on various devices.
Beyond facilitating transactions, the collaboration also aims to enhance the customer experience.
Consumers using Crypto.com Pay can earn rewards on their purchases, further incentivising the use of cryptocurrency in everyday transactions.
Ingenico, which is in active discussions with leading merchants, plans to launch a pilot programme with select partners in early 2025, with a wider rollout across major regions including North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia to follow.
Patrick Blanc, CTO of Ingenico, said,
“Our partnership with Crypto.com will redefine the payments landscape by seamlessly integrating crypto payments into commerce environments.
This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for merchant services worldwide, setting a new standard for innovative payment solutions that are moving commerce forward.”
Eric Anziani, President & COO of Crypto.com, added,
“We are on a mission to make it easier for people to use cryptocurrency in real-world payment scenarios and our partnership with Ingenico will go a long way to bringing crypto out of the web and increase its adoption as a powerful payment tool.
Crypto.com Pay is a secure and scalable technology, offering our customers yet another innovative way to interact with cryptocurrency – as the future of payments.”
The new crypto payment solution will be demonstrated at the Singapore Fintech Festival from 6-8 November 2024, where Ingenico will provide a live showcase at its booth.
