Agoda has tapped Checkout.com to improve payment approval rates and supplier payouts across its global travel platform.
The digital travel platform is using Checkout.com’s payments infrastructure to support bookings across more than six million hotels and holiday properties worldwide.
Agoda handles payments across multiple markets, currencies and peak travel periods.
Checkout.com’s Intelligent Acceptance tool uses real-time network data to help route transactions, reduce failed payments and improve approval rates.
The system works with Network Tokens and Real-Time Account Updater to help reduce false declines in complex travel payment flows, including cross-border and multi-currency transactions.
The companies are also working together on virtual card issuing, which Agoda uses to pay travel suppliers.
Checkout.com said its virtual card issuing service has recorded 0% downtime for Agoda’s supplier payments.

Pitichoke Chulapamornsri, Senior Director, Head of Fintech & Business Initiatives at Agoda, said,
“We chose Checkout.com for its proven performance, resilience, and deep technical expertise.
Their ability to improve acceptance rates while delivering zero downtime on issuing gives us confidence as we continue to expand our platform and serve travellers around the world.”

Brian Sze, Head of APAC at Checkout.com, said,
“Behind every booked trip is a digital moment that needs to work instantly and invisibly.
As travel becomes increasingly digital, AI-driven optimisation and resilient payments systems are essential to connecting travellers, merchants, and partners worldwide.”
