Sumsub is seeking experts for a new Asia-Pacific council focused on the identity, delegated authority and oversight of AI agents.
The Sumsub Agentic AI Council will bring together people from policy, academia, technology, industry and civil society to develop guidance on how organisations can use AI agents responsibly.
Its work will cover applications for AI agents, the technical systems needed to support them and approaches to governing their use.
The council plans to produce guidance and research reports and hold discussions with industry and policymakers.
Its first working group is expected to examine agentic commerce, including questions of identity, accountability and oversight when AI agents act on behalf of consumers or businesses.

“The opportunity presented by agentic AI is becoming clearer with every new use case, but the conditions for responsible adoption in environments with real financial, operational and regulatory consequences are still taking shape, even as they become increasingly business-critical.
Drawing on our work helping organisations build trust and accountability in digital interactions, we have a front-row view of these challenges and see an opportunity to accelerate trusted and scalable AI adoption with the Sumsub Agentic AI Council.”
said Jason Chan, APAC Government Relations Lead at Sumsub.
Sumsub has opened a call for founding advisors, who will help develop a framework covering agent identity, delegated authority, interoperability and auditability.
It plans to announce them before the council’s first meeting in the first quarter of 2027.
