Razorpay has launched payment infrastructure in GIFT City after securing its final Payment Service Provider (PSP) license from India’s International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
The setup gives brokers and wealth platforms a single integration for cross-border investment transactions, covering money leaving India as well as money returning to the country.
Razorpay is bringing consumer payment infrastructure to GIFT City to manage cross-border transactions in both directions.
Indian investors are increasingly looking to international markets to diversify their portfolios. Residents invested US$2.65 billion in overseas stocks and debt in FY26, up 56% year-on-year, according to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data.
Single integration for cross-border investments
Previously, investment platforms offering global equities had to connect multiple banking systems, compliance workflows and remittance partners independently.
This approach resulted in lengthy onboarding processes, fragmented user experiences and operational uncertainty.
The company’s infrastructure combines these processes into a single integration, allowing brokers and wealth platforms to offer global investment services while complying with FEMA and GIFT City regulations.
Razorpay says platforms can go live in two to three weeks, compared with the several months typically required to build such integrations.
The company also noted that regulators are increasingly directing cross-border investment flows through GIFT City, creating greater demand for infrastructure that meets regulatory requirements.
Bank integrations already live
Razorpay has completed integrations with RBL Bank and ICICI Bank, with additional banking partners expected to join in the coming months.
The infrastructure supports multiple payment options across major banks and payment systems, allowing platforms to offer global equity investments without managing separate payment, compliance and reporting processes.
