Claude users can now ask the AI chatbot where their money goes and how much they have left before payday.
The new Personal Finance feature lets users connect their bank accounts and credit cards to monitor spending and review transactions.
It is rolling out in beta to Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers in the United States.

Users can ask whether their spending has increased, how much they have left after paying bills or whether they are spending more than they earn.
Claude analyses transactions across connected accounts and groups expenses into categories such as rent, utilities and food.

It can also compare spending across previous months, identify duplicate charges, flag unexpected fees and highlight bills that have increased over time.
Users can generate spending charts, payment calendars and customised dashboards to track their finances.

Bank Connections Are Read-Only
The feature uses Plaid to connect bank accounts. Users must sign in through their banks and authorise access before Claude can retrieve their financial information.
Anthropic said the integration is read-only, meaning Claude cannot transfer money, manage accounts or make investments.
The chatbot can access account balances, credit limits and up to two years of transaction history from connected accounts.
Conversations within the Personal Finance section are not used to train Anthropic’s AI models. Users can disconnect their accounts at any time.
Anthropic also advises them to verify important financial figures with their banks as Claude may produce inaccurate responses.
The feature does not provide investment advice.
Anthropic is exploring ways for Claude to work alongside licensed financial professionals and regulated financial institutions, including banks and wealth managers.
