GoBear, a financial comparison website based in Asia, has appointed Pooi Chan Gan as the Country Director for Malaysia who has taken over the reins from Iskandar Ezzahuddin following his departure in November 2017.
According to the company, GoBear has amassed 2.5 million users to date, and an average of over 120,000 users per month. GoBear was also among the first to be approved in the Bank Negara Malaysia Financial Technology Regulatory Sandbox.
Pooi Chan Gan comes with more than 16 years’ experience in start-ups and international businesses. Her last appointment was as the General Manager of iCar Asia Malaysia where she launched the first ever test drive event, resulting in the sale of more than RM23 million worth of cars.
GoBear Malaysia will now look to Pooi Chan Gan as it moves into the next phase of evolving its business from a comparison website to a more comprehensive platform for both its users and partners.
Adjusting to her new role, Ms Gan said,
“GoBear Malaysia has built itself a great foundation since it launched in 2016 under Iskandar and I am very excited to forge ahead into 2018 with new strategies on expanding the GoBear business. We aim to further simplify and reduce jargon for users to be able to choose the right product that is suited to their needs in an unbiased manner.”
In her new role as GoBear Malaysia’s Country Director, Pooi Chan Gan leads a team of eight and will focus on overseeing the company’s 2018 strategic direction. This includes the continual growth of its enthusiastic user base, the launch of exciting new products, strengthening partner relationships and establishing new milestones for GoBear.
