Wise Doubles Down on Singapore as APAC Hub With Plans to Hire 150 Roles

by February 16, 2022

Wise, an online money transfer service, announced that it is further deepening its presence in Singapore with plans to hire 150 roles over the year in the country.

The Singapore office, which relocated to a larger space last year, is the company’s APAC hub and will be hiring across a number of functions.

This includes roles in engineering, product development, design, analytics, compliance, payments and other operations to drive product development and expansion in APAC and around the world.

Wise had recently introduced a new minimum standard for its global leave policy — including up to 18 weeks of fully paid parental leave regardless of gender, minimum 33 days of paid leave, and the addition of three ‘Me’ days for employees to use as they wish.

This is on top of its existing six-week sabbatical for employees who complete four years of service.

Wise was also recently awarded Fintech Employer of the Year at the SFF Global Fintech Awards 2021.

In Singapore, Wise became one of the first non-bank financial institutions to integrate directly in the FAST (Singapore’s real time payments system).

Wise customers can now send money from 8 markets in APAC namely Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

In February last year, the London-based unicorn had rebranded to Wise and now serves more than 12 million people and businesses through its suite of products.
