Singapore’s Trust Bank had partnered with the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Social Service Office (SSO) at Ang Mo Kio and Yishun to reach out to lower-income families under the Community Link (ComLink) initiative.
Since the launch of this initiative in March, Trust Bank’s staff have visited 500 families in need in these two areas, supporting ComLink’s social service officers as they went about their work with the local community.
Trust Bank had handed out FairPrice vouchers worth S$100 to each family to help them moderate their cost of living.
The bank said that the initiative, which supports families with children living in rental housing, was its way of thanking the community for helping it reach its 500,000 customer milestone.
Gail Tan, General Manager at Ang Mo Kio and Yishun’s Social Service Office said,
“On behalf of our 500 ComLink families in Ang Mo Kio and Yishun, the SSO would like to thank Trust for their contributions.
Besides the practical benefit of the vouchers that were gifted by Trust, the interactions and conversations that Trust staff had with the families left an indelible impression.”
Dwaipayan Sadhu, Chief Executive Officer of Trust said,
“We are so humbled and grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community in such a meaningful way.
The Trust team was deeply touched by the conversations that we had with the families, and we hope that the vouchers which we distributed will help them with their daily expenses.”
