Surer and Etiqa Roll Out Insurance for Singapore’s Migrant Domestic Workers

by December 13, 2023

Local insurtech firm Surer in collaboration with Etiqa Insurance Singapore has introduced a new insurance product specifically designed for migrant domestic workers (MDWs).

The “Go-Helper” product is fully customisable and exclusively available on the Surer platform. It can also be distributed by Surer’s intermediary users who represent Etiqa.

The new offering allows insurance intermediaries to tailor coverage from a selection of 12 options to meet their clients’ specific needs.

The coverage range includes outpatient medical care for accidents, repatriation, termination expenses, and even traditional Chinese medicine treatments related to accidents.

This product marks the third joint venture between Surer and Etiqa, following their partnership for car and motorcycle insurance products in June 2023. With integrated digital systems, intermediaries can reportedly quickly obtain quotes and finalise policies with Etiqa online.

The launch of Go-Helper aligns with Surer’s recent MOU with the Association of Employment Agencies (Singapore) to enhance digital access to suitable insurance plans for employment agencies and their clients.

Surer and Etiqa also plan to expand their collaboration to include travel insurance and other products.

“We realised the huge role employment agencies play when it comes to recommending appropriate insurance plans to their customers.

Bringing Surer’s digital solutions to help them overcome manual processes along with a fully customisable product like Go-Helper will further drive the impact that we bring to their businesses and customers.”

“The spirit of the partnership between Surer and Etiqa was built around the shared vision to better serve policy holders by supercharging intermediaries with tech.

We are proud to continue this partnership with the launch of the Go-Helper product and to give employment agencies and intermediaries the option and flexibility of offering employers and their MDWs a product that is customisable.”

said Raymond Ong, CEO, Etiqa Insurance Singapore.
