Nium Partners with Artajasa to Enhance Cross-Border Payments in Indonesia

by April 23, 2024

Global payments company Nium has announced a new partnership with Artajasa, a prominent Indonesian payment infrastructure provider.

This collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Money 20/20 Asia conference in Bangkok, aims to improve real-time, cross-border payment services between Indonesia and the international market.

Artajasa plays a critical role in Indonesia by operating switching services that support secure and efficient electronic transactions for banks and fintechs. The partnership marks a major step in Nium’s efforts to expand its presence in Asia.

Nium announced yesterday that its partner, Jeonbuk Bank in Korea, has gone live with its real-time remittance service, enabling the bank to better serve a growing number of immigrant clients.

In Thailand, Nium’s platform is utilised by four of the country’s leading banks: Kasikorn Bank, Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya), Krungthai Bank, and Siam Commercial Bank.

Nium’s extensive portfolio of licenses and registrations now covers more than 40 countries globally.

In 2024, Nium secured a Funds Transfer Service Provider license in Japan, two distinct licenses from the Reserve Bank of India, and a registration in New Zealand.
