Revolut, a global neobank with over 50 million customers, has launched eSIMs in Singapore, allowing users to stay connected while traveling to over 100 countries.
According to Revolut, it is the first fintech in Singapore to offer this service.
Customers with compatible devices can activate the eSIM through the Revolut app in under a minute.
The eSIM functions alongside physical SIM cards, enabling seamless switching between networks and helping users avoid roaming charges.
Notably, it also allows access to the Revolut app without an active data plan, ensuring users can manage their accounts and top up their data on the go.
To purchase, customers can locate the eSIM option in the app, select their coverage type (local, regional, or global), choose a data plan, and complete the purchase.
Prices start at S$1.50 for 1GB, with options up to 100GB, and vary by location and duration.
The eSIMs are offered in partnership with 1GLOBAL, a telecommunications provider.
Revolut’s eSIM rollout in Singapore is part of a broader expansion to Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
The service is already available in the UK and EEA, where users have reportedly redeemed over 3 million GB of data through eSIMs in 2024.
Raymond Ng, Chief Executive Officer at Revolut Singapore, said,
“At Revolut, we aim to simplify our customers’ lives and make things as easy and convenient for them as possible. This is exactly what our latest product, eSIMs, accomplishes. It offers seamless and cost-efficient access to mobile data, saving customers money and the hassle involved in organising and managing multiple physical SIM cards.
Whether you are in the US, Australia or Egypt, you can effortlessly secure a data plan with just a few taps on your phone, and then instantly share those breathtaking photos of your trip with friends and family. It’s a game-changer for people who love to travel internationally and it is built for the global citizen of today.”
