Visa has launched its Scan to Pay feature for QR payments across Asia Pacific, expanding digital payment acceptance to millions of merchants.
The rollout aims to simplify everyday payments and let consumers use their preferred wallets and apps for Visa transactions at home or abroad.
The solution is supported by Samsung Wallet across Asia Pacific, LINE Pay in Taiwan, VNPT Money in Vietnam, and Woori Card and Hyundai Card in Korea.
It also works with QR payment providers including Lakala in Mainland China, FOMO Pay in Singapore, VNPAY and NextPay in Vietnam, and OpenRice in Hong Kong.
Scan to Pay is part of Visa Pay, a broader initiative linking digital wallets to Visa-accepting merchants worldwide across in-store and online channels.
Consumers can pay by tapping, scanning, or checking out online through their preferred apps.
For merchants, the rollout extends access to international customers using home-country wallets and allows use of existing QR systems, reducing costs and supporting business growth.

T.R. Ramachandran, Head of Products and Solutions, Asia Pacific, Visa, said,
“As commerce across Asia Pacific becomes increasingly mobile-first, Visa is leading the way with innovations like Scan to Pay that accelerate QR payment adoption.
By enabling millions of merchants to accept secure, seamless payments by tapping or scanning, we’re not only expanding digital acceptance but also empowering consumers with more flexible ways to pay – anytime, anywhere.”
Visa will showcase Visa Pay and Visa Intelligent Commerce at the Singapore Fintech Festival from 12–14 November 2025.
