Pand.ai announced today that it has developed a chatbot for CIMB Singapore to help business owners with their queries on COVID-19 financial schemes offered by the bank.

CIMB said that it is the first bank in Singapore to have developed a chatbot specifically for business owners seeking financial relief.

Dubbed as EVA, it is an AI that’s powered by Natural Language Processing and Named Entity Recognition, and is said to be able to understand the subtler semantics of a human being. At the same time, they claim it will accurately pick up the topic that the user is asking for.

It was initially launched in 2016 and was “enhanced” through a collaboration with MoneyThor and Active.ai in 2018.

“In many ways, the development of EVA epitomizes the new normal: Artificial Intelligence, ultra-fast development, and remote collaboration. This AI Chatbot was designed, built and launched remotely in only 4 weeks during the circuit breaker period, with zero face-to-face meeting. We are delighted to help launch CIMB’s first chatbot in Singapore, and even prouder to use our 100% made-in-Singapore technology to support the Bank’s digital initiative in making government-assisted financing schemes more accessible to local businesses in this challenging time,”

explained Mr. Chuang Shin Wee, cofounder and CEO of Pand.ai.
