Home to 39% of all fintechs in ASEAN, Singapore is the fintech leader in Asia Pacific (APAC) and the fourth top fintech city in the world, according to the inaugural Global Fintech Index City Rankings 2020 report.

Like previous years, Singapore will be hosting some of the region’s biggest fintech events in 2020. The following 19 conferences are some of the most anticipated fintech gatherings to take place this year in the city state.

The speaker, Vijay Nayudu, Executive Director, Fintech, Ecosystem and Innovation, Group Channels & Digitalization, UOB, will share his view on how AI is being used to develop new business models in the digital environment, enabling banks to better meet customer needs and expectations while keeping new competitors at bay and the regulators happy.

Nayudu will share examples of this through first-of-a-kind applications in ASEAN, viz. He will also explain why ecosystem partnerships can help banks grow and capture new customer segments at scale, and how fintech capabilities can to improve productivity and better manage risk. The Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF) is the world’s largest fintech festival and a global platform for the fintech community.

The 2019 festival saw 60,000 participants from 140 countries. Attendees comprised fintech players, technopreneurs, policy makers, financial industry leaders, private equity/venture capitalist investors, and academics. Last year’s event saw a record 569 speakers, close to 1,000 exhibitors and 41 international pavilions.

Like in 2019, SFF will be combined with the Singapore Week of Innovation and TeCHnology (SWITCH) in 2020 to present SFF x SWITCH.
