Crypto.com has launched its inaugural APAC Hackathon focused on Web3.0 and AI-powered solutions to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The agenda, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a blueprint to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030.
Open to only APAC participants, the hackathon is supported by academic partners Singapore Management University (SMU) and Melbourne Business School.
Participants are specifically encouraged to focus submissions on these three goals – Quality Education (Goal 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (Goal 8) or Climate Action (Goal 13).
Following the proposal submission period, 12 participants will be selected for the four-week incubation programme.
They will be assigned a Crypto.com mentor and participate in technical masterclasses across a range of Web3.0 and AI topics to support the design and development of their concept.
The hackathon will culminate on 14 November during the Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF) 2023, with all finalists receiving complimentary tickets to the event.
The top 3 winners will receive US$ 20,000, US$ 10,000, and US$ 5,000 respectively, while the remaining finalists will each receive US$ 1,000.
Registrations are now open until 29 September.
