Globe Group, a Philippines’ telecoms company, will be showcasing its tech journey at the Singapore Fintech Festival 2023 (SFF 2023) that had kicked off today (14 November).
A highlight at SFF 2023 will be the panel discussion titled “Building Unicorns: An ASEAN Success Story”, featuring Ernest Cu, President and CEO of Globe Group, and Martha Sazon, President and CEO of Mynt.
At the panel discussion, the two leaders of Globe’s business evolution are set to discuss the conglomerate’s digital transformation.
Globe’s evolution is marked by a 44% year-on-year increase in non-telco revenues, reaching PHP4.1 billion in the first three quarters of 2023.
A crucial part of Globe’s success is GCash, operated by Mynt, the Philippines’ only double unicorn. GCash’s net earnings skyrocketed to PHP1.62 billion in the first nine months of 2023, a 149% increase from the previous year.
Ernest said,
“Our transformation from ‘telco to techco’ reflects our commitment to innovation and solving real-world challenges.
At SFF, we’re excited to demonstrate how this pivot is not just about business growth but making a tangible difference in the daily lives of Filipinos.”
Speaking on GCash, Mynt’s Martha said,
“GCash is a testament to our customer-first approach and technological innovation.
At SFF, we look forward to sharing our experiences and insights on creating inclusive financial solutions for millions of Filipinos.”
This global fintech event, organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Elevandi, is set to take place at the Singapore Expo from 15 to 17 November 2023.
The SFF 2023 is expected to draw an audience of 62,000 participants from 134 countries, focusing on the nexus of financial services, public policy, and innovative technology.
