Global payments firm Airwallex has introduced its payment acceptance services in the United States, enabling U.S.-based merchants to accept both domestic and international payments.
This new service also allows foreign merchants with U.S. entities to provide a localised payment experience to their customers in the U.S., improving acceptance rates and reducing costs.
A localised checkout experience is critical, as a significant majority of consumers prefer pricing in their local currency and want to see their preferred payment methods available.
With this expansion, Airwallex now supports merchants across 35 countries, facilitating their growth by connecting them to a global customer base.
Airwallex’s solution offers a multi-currency, localised shopping experience, allowing businesses to avoid unnecessary conversion fees and integrate various payment options like Klarna, PayPal, and region-specific methods such as GrabPay in Malaysia and Singapore, and iDEAL in the Netherlands.
The platform provides multiple integration options catering to different business sizes, from simple payment links to sophisticated API-driven custom solutions.
Additionally, Airwallex integrates payment processing with its suite of financial products, allowing merchants to manage their earnings efficiently and make global payments seamlessly.
“With payment acceptance live in 35 markets across Asia Pacific, Europe, and now the U.S., Airwallex is poised to take on the biggest names in online payments. We’re investing here for the long-term, showing businesses of all sizes what a truly global financial infrastructure can deliver.
The opportunity we’re delivering is two-fold: helping U.S. companies tap into a global customer base, and helping businesses around the world access the massive U.S. market.”
said Ravi Adusumilli, Executive General Manager of Americas at Airwallex.
As part of its growth strategy, Airwallex has recently expanded into Canada and plans to enter the Mexican market following its agreement to acquire MexPago, a local payment service provider.
The company is also strengthening its global leadership team and has launched its Borderless Cards in Canada.
