Credit Risk Manager
Description

To drive the strategic directions to develop, improve and implement group risk management frameworks, policies, guidelines/procedures, methodologies and reporting in alignment with the business objectives of Maybank Group’s aspirations. To plan, lead and provide direction for the implementation of a robust and comprehensive Credit Risk Management Framework to safeguard local operation’s interests in terms of asset quality and optimization of risk adjusted returns. To generate Credit Risk reports and other credit risk matters to the Management to value add on the key asset quality concerns and timely reporting to counterparties at Group. To assist credit risk policies adoption/localization and timely policies review.

Responsibilities
  • Identify key credit risks
  • Develop and participate in the review and development of all appropriate group policies & guidelines to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Provide insights to stakeholders for effective reporting
  • Propose action plans to mitigate risk exposures based on management direction.
  • Collaborate with HO to continually enhance and streamline reporting of credit risk matter
  • Assist Business Units to ensure operation is executed align with regulatory and guidance to local requirement and HO
  • Advice management on the materiality of detected risk or any breach of relevant policies/thresholds
  • Drive and conduct periodic formal discussion with business units to raise risk awareness and ensure alignment between risk and business objective
  • Conduct and participate the presentation to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Head office team and as a contact person/bridge between Group and MCP
  • Identify key stakeholders as working group and ensure the project timeline is met.
Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor degree/degree equivalent professional qualification.
  • Credit risk and reporting (Excel skill) related background.
  • Demonstrate strong inter-personal and emotional skills.
  • Be able to coach, provide insight, presentation and explanation related to credit risk matters.
  • Be able to drive the understanding of risk management requirement as well as support business units to achieve targets without compromising risk.
  • Be able to collaborate with top management across Group level and other departments.
  • Strong analytical skill and sound knowledge of banking products, processes and in depth experience in the function.
  • Have strong critical thinking skill and project management skill.
