Responsibilities
Management
- Leading, developing and setting the direction of the Corporate Communications & PR Dept., ensuring it continues to build Cake's profile within the media and delivers high quality advice and activity that support Cake's objectives and safeguard and enhance the Company’s reputation.
- Effectively delegating tasks to Corporate Communications & PR team members, monitoring their progress, and providing guidance.
- Managing the function’s budget & budgets for public relations and external affairs initiatives.
Media, public affairs and stakeholder engagement
- Oversee and contribute to the effective management of Cake’s media relations, including by handling enquiries, selling-in stories and news, and providing robust advice to effectively manage interviews with journalists.
- Representing the company in interviews and press conferences, serving as a spokesperson.
- Ensuring brand consistency across all marketing content and communication channels.
- Addressing and managing negative press or PR crises, should they arise.
Integrated communications
- Cultivating relationships with media organizations and key influencers to enhance brand presence.
- Monitoring and analyzing the success of campaigns and tracking media coverage.
- Presenting comprehensive reports on the effectiveness of executed campaigns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or relevant fields.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience in supervising and managing a public relations/external affairs team.
- Demonstrable portfolio showcasing successful oversight of public relations campaigns.
- Expertise in social media, online marketing, and a deep understanding of internet culture.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Creative thinking with a strong inclination towards innovation and effective problem-solving.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Established connections with media outlets and influential accounts.
- In-depth knowledge of web and marketing analytics to inform strategic decisions.
- Proven ability to conduct market research and present insightful reports.
